Day 15 -
Ok, I lied on Facebook. I wasn't too tired, I was just absolutely out of things to be thankful for. (well, things to write about anyway) My 2011 thankful series was in depth and covered a lot of what I carry with me in life. Leaving 2014 to be... hard to write about!
So I'll reserve day 15 of thanksgiving for the little things in life. Victoria's chipmunk voice... Ava's request for Oatmeal Cream Pies from the grocery story. Picking Stevie up from the skating rink and seeing her standing next to a rather handsome boy waiting for her ride home... Fires in the fireplace on a cold, autumn evening. Movies with the family. Birthday cakes and candles. Today, a total stranger lifted his hand to wave as we passed one another on the highway. (It's a Texan thing!) It's those little things in life that warm the heart and make it all worthwhile.
Day 16 -
Today, I'm thankful that Stevie is old enough to babysit! It is SO NICE to be able to crawl in the car and go for a drive to just take a deep breath and chill out when my patience has left the building. Or on weekends when Nico and I have a big grocery trip to make - she keeps her sisters so we can handle that in peace. It's a HUGE help! I hope she knows this...
