One day, a while back... we were driving down the road and Ava noticed that big white thing up in the sky. Much to our surprise, she started wailing with excitement "MOMMMAAA!!! A ball in da kys!" Many giggles and heart swells later, we told her that it was in fact the moon. Ever since then, she's been obsessed with finding the moon in the sky.
So the other day, I found her standing in a kitchen chair, looking out our dining room window at the moon in the sky. She told me at least 102 times about the Moo in da Kys.

First Signs of Life
Well I had my first baby appointment today. It was a bittersweet memory, being back in the hospital I swore I'd never go to again! You see, Ava was in such a rush to enter the world (2 weeks early) that when I went to have her, I didn't have time to stop and call anyone. To top it off, I had her like REALLY early on a Saturday morning (2am) and we can't be released until the on call pediatrician checks the baby out. Well, he didn't show up until around 6pm on Monday night! I spent 3 long, grueling days in a hospital room with NO TV and NO PHONE and NO INTERNET!!! Just me and Ava. I had no way of sharing baby pictures with the world right after she was born. My husband of course came home and video-teleconferenced with all of his family on MSN and they drank to our good fortunes. Oh well... Those three days may well be some of the sweetest. I kept Ava tucked warm under the blankets near my heart and we bonded... sweet, silent squeaks in the middle of the night... Oh how I can't wait to do this again.
SO anyway... I showed up today a little nervous. 2 blocks from the parking lot and three flights of stairs to the OB/GYN office. There was the same doctor I had with Ava. I was a little disappointed that he didn't remember me! It's ONLY been 2 years :P Fortunately I didn't have a long wait. Routine first appointment exam, and then the ultrasound. Sadly, Nico wasn't there, as both our girls were home early today so he stayed with them. He didn't miss much though. At 6 weeks and 2 days, Baby #3 is a mere poppy seed in the womb. But the doctor focused in tight on the little shimmer of life that was the heartbeat, and all worries disappeared. Baby 3 is secured deep inside a perfectly formed sac and is growing just as he/she should. Accompanied with the shimmer of life was the great reveal that there is only ONE Baby 3 growing :)
Then it was over... 30 minutes after it started, the first appointment is one milestone behind me in this 9 month wait to meet the next baby. Please allow me to introduce our newest love... look CLOSELY, Baby 3 is small!

Unconscious Thoughts
So I'm just blogging cause I feel like I'm out of touch with the world and it's because of this RIDICULOUS thing I call work. I've been on 12 hour shifts since Monday, and Lord knows I don't think I could do 12 more if I tried... how's THAT for a 60 hour work week?! Fortunately I get off at 1030am tomorrow after going in at 6, because I have my first baby doctor appointment! I'm praying for two things... One, that there's a sweet little heartbeat that sounds across the speaker and two... that there's ONLY one! haha
Highlight of the week was Stevie starting swimming lessons on Wednesday. She had SUCH a fabulous time, and came home so excited about being able to go underwater on the very first day! I was so glad, because before that day came she was quite nervous and fearful of what they'd ask her to do. I really hope that 12 more lessons will give her the confidence to let go and have all kinds of fun the next time we're at the pool!
Anyway... short note. I'm braindead and sitting here still in my work clothes. I'll leave you all with a couple of pictures taken last night while the girls were in the tub. Enjoy :) I do. EVERY DAY! Hopefully I'll have more to blog about this weekend...

Tea Party Princess
I wish I had pictures to explain these words... but I can only share, and document for my OWN good later on.
Ava's started interactive playing. Tonight, I was playing around on the laptop while sitting on the couch, and I looked down to find Ava sitting on the carpet with her tea party stuff... Loudly proclaiming "Stevie!! Steeeeeevie!!" (sounds more like Steee Beee!) Stevie had her head buried in the TV, ignoring Ava. So I said Stevie, your sister is calling you! Stevie says "What Ava?" And Ava pats the carpet, calling Stevie to sit beside her so she can have some 'tea.'
There are also days where they play hide and seek together in the house. Ava's favorite place to hide Stevie is in the hallway closet. She'll wrap her arms around Stevie's waist and pull her to the closet, open the door and shove her in. Whenever Stevie tries to come out, Ava yells at her and forces her back in!
When Stevie's doing her homework, Ava prefers to color alongside her. When Stevie changes the channel on the TV, Ava gets SO angry and protests "MY REMOTE!" and grabs it and puts it back on her cartoons... Ohhhh sibling rivalry.
What I love the most though, is seeing my children laughing together. Playing chase in the house, tickling one another in the floor, and sliding out on the playground...

Up, Up, and AWAY! (Maybe!)
My mother-in-law is fabulous. For Nico's birthday (and his brother's since they both celebrate in February) she bought 4 tickets to ride in a hot-air balloon over castles in France!
The maybe part comes in whether I can accompany my husband on this flight. Truth be told, I've always had a minor underlying fear of flying in a balloon. To me, it seems COMPLETELY in the hands of God once we're up there. I mean hello, it doesn't have a steering wheel... or brakes... You just kinda give 'er the gas and up ya go! I think it would be an AWESOME notch on the life belt of experiences, so for this reason I'm strongly considering it. (But maybe a small part of me is hoping there's fine print in the flying rules that says fat, pregnant chicks aren't allowed.) hahaha... In which case, I'll pass on the fine opportunity to Stevie so she'll have another notch on HER life belt :)
Either way, we're waiting on warmer weather to even consider the venture. What fun are castles in a balloon if there's no sun to warm us??

Cuddles
Late at night when all the world is sleeping, I stay up and cuddle you!
My sweet Ava... fell asleep WAAAY too late for her afternoon nap today and woke up around 630pm. Now she's having a hard time falling asleep. So I'm on baby watch tonight... I let her out of bed (cause she was just laying their singing to herself in the dark anyway) and now she's sprawled out on the couch with Blankie, watching Nemo for the zillionth time this week.
But I wanted to brag, that as soon as I hit "Publish Post" I'm gonna get rid of the wild panther in my lap, and I'm gonna go sprawl out underneath my Ava and hopefully run my fingers through her hair until she falls asleep.
Oh, my sweet Ava is growing up too quickly. How I love you baby girl!

And, and when...
And when Ava refuses to eat dinner... so you plan to punish her by putting her to bed without eating and she won't fall asleep cause she's hungry. So you cut her a hot dog with cheese and she eats it in 2 minutes and she's SO grateful that you didn't let her starve.
Or when she NEVER gives her daddy kisses or hugs because she's stubborn and mean... but at the end of the day she'll curl up in his lap and listen to Metallica and pet his head while she's trying to fall asleep?
How about when EVERY time I sit down on the couch with my laptop, I have a black panther who sniffs out my location and joins me within 2 minutes of sitting... Not satisfied unless he has his chin and one leg resting over my arm.
Or when Ava sings songs... "Wee-oh Wee-oh Wii-oh Taaaar" or "roow rooow rooow booat, hmm hmm treeeee"
And when Stevie wakes up at 0830am and the first thing on her mind is spending the night at Skye's house 12 hours from now (cause that was the last thing on her mind the night before!)
And when Stevie refuses to eat her dinner cause she doesn't like it... so you dismiss her from the table. Then 2 hours later you ask if she wants girl scout cookies and she says "sure" and you suddenly remember that she didn't eat her dinner so you have to take back the offer! (bad mommy!)
