When You Wish Upon a Wish...

So first, there are dandelions... you know, those pesky little yellow flowers that our grandmother's deemed WEEDS when we were little... only when you move to Germany and there are literally GAJILLIONS of them all over the fields, they're more than weeds... They're springtime kisses from God!

But magically, almost overnight... dandelions turn into - WISHES! Those little powder puff looking "flowers" that you pick, make a wish on, and then blow!

A week or so ago, I took Ava on a walk around the base and saw a "wish" poking up out of the grass. I smiled on the inside as I remembered introducing wishes to Stevie when she was Ava's age. As we got closer to this particular wish, I got Ava's attention and steered her in the direction of a childhood memory. We walked over, I showed her how to pick them, and how to blow them. However, Ava's breath isn't so big (as we found out with bubbles) so we settled for the alternative. SHAKE THEM! haha... From that day forward, Ava has pointed out every single wish on the side of the road that her eyes lay upon.

Well today, on the way home from work, I realized that we still had a lot of daylight left. So I hurried in, packed up the girls, and Nico and I took them to see the Gajillion wishes. Ava was beside herself! Below, some pictures of just how beautiful Germany can be in the springtime :)

  1. who knew that silly little weed could make for such beautiful pictures. Actually, as I type that I realize that it's probably your amazing editing that adds to the great quality of the pictures...
    What fun...thanks for sharing.

Your kids are beautiful. I can't wait to see pics of the new baby. She will be here before you know it.
