Me: I started my new position at the end of March. I no longer work at squadron level, but in the office that maintains all of the flight record folders for the pilots on base. We're known as the HARM, or Host Aviation Resource Management office. It's the first time I've worked at this level in my 10 years of air force employment, and I can truly say it's a learning experience. Wish me luck, as I continue to gain knowledge that will be needed to earn my next rank.
I'm currently 2 days shy of being 18 weeks pregnant. I feel tiny flutters every now and then, not otherwise - I hardly notice she's there. I've only gained 12 lbs (still fitting into my skinny jeans, but just barely!) Everything is going great with this pregnancy as well.
Nicolas: I shipped him off to Holland for the weekend to spend a night with his cousin, Cyrille. I told him to drive fast, drink much, and sleep late! The girls and I did ok without him... although if I had a choice, I'll keep him around a while longer haha. Ava spent the better part of the morning asking "where's daddy?" She also woke up this morning completely confused as to why he was still gone. I think a little independence is earned every now and then. After all, I get four months of it from time to time! He earned his weekend away :)
Stevie: 7.5 years old. Anxious for the good weather to stick around longer than one day at a time. Currently outside soaking up the sun while it's in town... She loves wearing her Heely's, her rollerblades, riding her bike or scooter. She's got a few more swimming lessons to go before she's finished with level 1. She LOVES the water now, and really enjoys going under and fetching toys. I'm so proud of her for overcoming her fear of having water in her face. While she still doesn't trust me or her daddy to teach her things in the water, she's not afraid to try new things on her own. Way to go baby girl! She's wrapping up 2nd grade... going on field trips and getting ready for Field Day on June 4th. I'm SO excited, as I'm actually in town for this one and will get to be a part of it with her!
Ava: 2.5 years old. Need I say more? :P Her vocabulary has blossomed into more than I can write here. It floors me when she uses her manners, as she so often does. She knows all of her colors, can count to 20, knows a few shapes, and can identify a couple of numbers and letters by sight. Her best friend is Stevie (hope it stays that way!) She still has on/off weeks of bad 2 yr old behavior... but those are few and far between. The rest of the time, she's being her sweet self... too cute not to laugh at when she's being a total butt! She still attends half day school during the week and she TOO loves to play outdoors. She's mastering climbing the ladders to the big slide, and she's really turning into her daddy... jumping from high places!
Victoria: 18 weeks gestation. Flipping and turning, and jumping on Mommy's bladder. Getting bigger by the day. Can't wait til Daddy can feel her moving too :)
Zeus and Athena: Ages 6 and 5. Took them for a vet visit the other day, annual checkup and shots. Athena was sweet as usual. Zeus on the other hand, had to be held down with thick leather gloves and he screamed like a human when they poked his butt with a rabies vaccine. Spent the rest of the ride home hissing in displeasure. I, however, thought it was hilarious.
**Aunt Vicki update** I never updated after her scheduled surgery. My aunt, unfortunately, could not go through with the surgery. After she stopped chemo, prior to the surgery, too much time had lapsed and the tumor returned bigger and badder than before. It's wrapped around a nerve near her ear, deeming it inoperable. Her jaw is completely disfigured.... docs gave another round of chemo only a 10% chance of working. Therefore, she's LIVING life to the fullest, intent on beating this... just not with chemo. Please keep her in your prayers. Above all, I want her to enjoy every day with as little pain as possible.
Above all, we're all healthy, all happy, all looking forward to baby Victoria joining the family!! More to follow...
