Tidbits

Life's busy, I'm lazy... there are a few excuses for why I kinda fell off the blog wagon. . . But here are a couple of snippets of daily life for us here lately!

I'll be 11 weeks pregnant on Tuesday. Going back on April 9th for an ultrasound that will measure the neck and have a look at the nasal bone so doc can tell if genetic defects are there. Apparently this is something that is routinely done, but only recently did it become German law for them to let me know exactly what they're looking for - and only AFTER I give written consent that it's ok for them to look for this stuff. (well duh, who WOULDN'T want to know if something was wrong?) I'll be 12 weeks and 3 days at the time of the next appointment, and surprisingly - the doctor assumes he can tell the sex of the baby with his new handy dandy ultrasound machine! I guess we'll find out!

I started my new job on Monday. I've got a lot of mixed feelings about it. I feel completely lost in an office where I know little to NOTHING about what I'm supposed to be doing. It'll be a long, slow process to learn everything that needs to be learned in order to be as good as I was with the 22 FS. It's my first time in 10 years working in the flight records office so... WISH ME LUCK! I do miss my pilots more than life... and the busy buzz of phones and radios and constant traffic... but for now I have a desk by a window, and only 2 other people in the office. Should make for a stress free pregnancy!

Stevie's doing great. Every day I look at her and she seems a little bigger. Hard to believe she'll be 8 this year! A 3rd grader after the summer. . . She needs a haircut...

Ava's vocabulary has skyrocketed. It's so sweet to see her really stop and think about how to put a sentence together as she's saying it. "Careful Stevie, it's hot! Blow it..." (talking about dinner.) Or "No, I don't want it." I think her favorite is just running around, "cussing" at Daddy and telling him what he IS and ISN'T supposed to be doing :P She's got a real attitude these days...

Nicolas is still great. Job hunt is indefinitely on hold now, especially with the new baby on the way. He makes a much better stay at home dad anyway! His presence here, for me and the kids is much more needed than a few extra $$ a month.

I think we're all looking forward to some dryer weather and sun. Temps are increasing, but it's been cloudy and rainy on the weekends. (funny though - Monday mornings are SUNNY AS CAN BE!) Go figure.

Anyway... Let me have a sunny day off from work and I'll have some new pics for you. Until then - it's life as usual... Work, home, chores, eat, sleep... and the cycle continues. Much love from the Durgeats.
