The last two nights, I've gone to roll down the blinds on the backside of the house... only to find BRILLIANT, fiery sunsets displaying their colors. A deep blue sky, highlighted by the most intense pinks and purples one could ever dream of seeing. It's not all joyous occasion - the weather truly SUCKS... I wish we had warmer temps so we could get out and play... but the sunrises and sunsets are so amazing, and make the winter months so much more bearable here in Germany. Thank you God for blessing us with this breathtaking scenery day after day.
This past week I've seen a 180 in my children. Stevie got in some pretty big trouble with us when she put off her homework until it was too late and ended up turning in an incomplete assignment. For this, she was taken out of drama club (which means she's unable to participate in the end of school play.) She was crushed. Well, she came home after receiving her new homework for the week and rushed to get it ALL done the first night. Let's hope this is a trend.
Ava has become such a pleasure to parent. She's full of please and thank you! She's compassionate and thoughtful... she actually handed her sister the remote earlier and made it a point that it was her turn to watch her shows!! She cleans up her toys at the end of the day, and she goes to bed by simply climbing in, covering up, and kissing me goodnight. No loud wailing at the top of her lungs for someone to cuddle or rub her back!
I know greener grass and sour spots come and go in phases (I've learned that much in my 7 years of parenting!) I'm definitely enjoying this phase though. It's NICE to come home to sweet, well behaved girls who are thoughtful!
