Well we braved the snow storm and made the trek to Ramstein today to pick up our new car! I have to say I was worried... 3" of snow over the entire region it seems... and crazy Germans hauling butt on the autobahn while I'm going a measley 40mph so I don't slide off the road!
It was a LOT of back and forth today. In between dealerships (we were selling our SUV to a used car dealer) and to two separate customs offices, and then FINALLY to the storage room where our van was being kept.
I opened the driver door and got a whiff of new car smell, and it was all over! I fell in love. Soccer mom labels aside... this was MY brand new car. It had 8 miles on the odometer. It's got a built in DVD player... it's got front and rear heat/air. It seats 8 people. It has buttons on the remote thingie that open the back doors. I love love LOVE it.
I was sad to say goodbye to my SUV though. When we went back to finalize paperwork to get rid of it, they'd backed it up among the other used cars, and I felt kinda sad for it. I hope it's new owners love it as much as I did!
Stay tuned for pictures! (don't have any yet. Had to haul butt inside as it was pouring down snow and it was just too cold to stand out there and be proud. I'll admire from the warmth of my living room window!) lol
