After being holed up in a hotel room for 2.5 weeks, I couldn't wait to get home and spend some much needed time in the sun with my family. Sunday afternoon, we did just that! There's a wonderful stretch of man-made lake in Echternach, Luxembourg, and we made the 20 minute trek over to enjoy it! Stevie and Ava brought their scooters to ride around, and Victoria and I dumped a stale bag of Pops cereal in the lake for the ducks/swans.
There are a few stops that Stevie and Ava REALLY enjoy around the lake... One has been dubbed the "water house." I'm not quite sure what it is, exactly... there are steps that lead up to a fountain thingie, and then water that trickles down the middle. On a hot day, it's perfect for the kids to dip their feet in and cool off!

It is officially impossible to get them ALL to look the same way, and smile... together!

The next pit stop is usually the "frog ramp." It's a little boat ramp where Stevie discovered TONS of tadpoles (once.) Since then, it's usually a big race to get to the frog ramp to see if there are more frogs. To much disappointment, we have never seen them in the numbers that we saw them that one time. (sorry - no pics of the frog ramp.)
After the frog ramp, comes the dock where it is mandatory to throw rocks for at least 10 minutes. The girls scoop up handfuls of small rocks and race down to the edge of the dock where they sit and splunk pebbles and watch the water ripple. I'm hoping it makes for good memories, someday :)

Just a bit further, and then the grand finale...

Nothing like the wind, blowing through your hair!

There's a small park at the end of the 3k walk around the lake, and it's THE perfect reward for dragging the girls around to burn energy before bedtime.
It's funny... I've literally been around the world and seen/done a lot of things... but the one place I wouldn't trade for ALL the world, is being in the presence of my family. I'm so glad I'm home!
